Clinton calls alleged rape and violence in Guinea "criminality of the greatest degree."
|

|
Alleged violence by government troops in Guinea represents “criminality of the greatest degree,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Tuesday. “We were appalled and outraged by the recent violence in Guinea,” Clinton told reporters after a meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. “The indiscriminate killing and raping that took place under government control by government troops was a vile violation of the rights of the people in that country.” She said the government of Capt. Moussa Dadis Camara should offer a “profound apology” to Guinea’s people and give up power.

Guinea Junta Government Must Go. Washington, Oct 5, 2009 - Allieu M. Shaw, President of ABC Television-Africa and Africa Media Group LLC; has called on the international community to condemn the recent violations of human rights in Guinea by members of the military junta. Shaw says Dadis Camara must not be allowed to continue on as a Head of State of Guinea. "Dadis must immediately step down and face criminal charges for human rights violations including rape, murder and torture of innocent civilians" says Shaw.
