Dynamic, Efficient and Cost Effective in Accordance with Sound Business Principles.
ABC Television-Africa made history on March 24 2005, when it was inaugurated by H.E President
Alhaji Dr. Ahmed Tejan Kabba, President of The Republic of Sierra Leone, as the first private
independent terrestrial broadcaster in Sierra Leone. The station was founded, designed and
constructed by Mr. Allieu M. Shaw. Mr. Shaw is a native of Sierra Leone. The station broadcasts on
UHF Channel 22 at 479 MHz. The broadcast signals presently cover the entire Western Area, Port
Loko, Kambia, Lunsar and some areas of Makeni. Our planned nationwide expansion program
includes broadcasts to Bo, Bonthe, Kailahun, Pujehun, Kenema, Kono, Makeni and Kabala.
We are committed to procuring and broadcasting high quality, innovative and relevant educational
programmes aimed at early childhood development, non-formal education, youth development,
and public education programmes. We are also committed to broadcasting religious contents that
reflect the diversity of faiths in Sierra Leone. The objective,here, is to present programmes that are
representative of all the major religions in the country in an unbiased and appropriate manner.
Each day, we strive to provide our viewers with regular reliable news and information that is useful
to their community. As a result, we make efforts to maintain a well trained credible news crew that
is dedicated to bringing to the people, the latest news and information.
We are proud of the achievement that we have made in contributing to promote peace and stability
in Sierra Leone through media education. It is our objective to help bridge the gap and improve
dialogue between the government and its people. Only this way, do we believe that the country
could sustain lasting peace and tranquility that it has fought so hard to achieve.
